FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM TYPES BASED ON PURPOSE OF USE

There are two system types in Fire Detection Systems based on purpose of use.These are systems working for life safety and Property protection.As mentioned above, the shape, size, location and intended use of the structure determine the type of security to be used in these systems.

Fire Detection Systems for Life Safety

• Type L1 providing protection to cover the entire plant
• Type L2 providing protection to cover certain high-risk parts of the plant
• Type L3, which only protects escape routes
• Type M with systems operating only with fire warning buttons

Fire Detection Systems for Property Protection

• Type P1 providing protection to cover the entire plant
• Type P2 providing protection to cover certain high-risk parts of the plant

L Type Fire Detection Systems for Life Safety

L Type Fire Detection Systems for protecting human life are divided into four types as L1 – L2 – L3 – M type.

• Type L1 Fire Detection Systems:It is a type of system that should be preferred in houses with a hazard class of medium or high and with a height more than 51.50 meters. It provides protection that cover the entire plant.
• Type L2 Fire Detection Systems:These systems, which cover only the high-risk parts of plants and spaces, are preferred for businesses with a low hazard class that won’t cause a potentially spreading fire.
• Type L3 Fire Detection Systems:These systems, which work only to protect the escape routes from the environment, are used in buildings with low danger class, which do not cause a potentially spreading fire.
• Type M Fire Detection Systems:These are the mechanisms in which the fire alarm buttons are found so people can inform others about the fire conditions in the buildings with medium or low hazard class.

Type P Fire Detection Systems for Property Safety

• Type P1 Fire Detection Systems:Just like the type L1, these are the systems that are used in areas with high hazard class, where materials with a high probability of burning and spreading are present or very valuable materials are stored.P1 provides a protection that covers the entire plant.
• Type P2 Fire Detection Systems:These systems cover only the parts of buildings where there is a high risk of fire and spread.
